Spring Ball 2017 – £400 raised for the Jessie May Children’s Hospice

On Saturday 11th of March we gathered in our finest dress for the Burbage & Easton Royal CC Spring Ball. Like the previous year the venue was Marlborough’s iconic town hall. Owing to the success of the previous years ball we had managed to fill a couple more tables and we had a fantastic 114 people in attendance.

The evening started with a humorous grace read by Paul Lavis, which finished by giving thanks for the gift that is Joe Roooooot. We were soon tucking into a splendid three course meal, between course Nobby and Rog provided the entertainment with games of head or tails and Irish bingo. Nigel Wallbridge proved himself to be a font of all cricketing knowledge by winning heads or tails after narrowly beating Matthew Kellow on a coin toss after they both backed the same answer on the tie break question!

After the meal it was time for the live music from CrashUK who performed their variety of Rock and Roll covers and had people up dancing the night away. Thanks to them for a great performance.

The evening finished at around midnight and it was time for many happy and slightly worse for wear people to either make their way home or into town for further partying. The club would like to say thank you to all those who supported the event and we hope that you had a good evening.

These event wouldn’t be possible without those who give up their time to organise them, there were several people who helped set up on the day who we would like to say thank you too, but in particular we owe Tracey Lavis a huge thank you, as she worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the event to make sure it was the success it turned out to be.

During a a break in the CrashUK set we ran a raffle in aid of the Jessie May Children’s Hospice, who provide support for families in the most difficult of circumstances. It’s a fantastic cause which is also supported by our main sponsor Thrings Solicitors. We are delighted to announce that thanks to the generosity of those who bought raffle tickets we raised a fantastic £400!

We wouldn’t of been able to raise these vital funds without the help from local businesses who kindly donated raffle prizes, they were as follows:
